These wheel-thrown ceramic vessels have been meticulously finished with a green copper glaze reminiscent of jade. Within this piece, two dragons engage in playful competition for a resplendent golden pearl. Dragons, revered as symbols of fortune and prosperity, possess the power to dispel negativity and ailment from their surroundings. This creation showcases the artistry of kintsugi repair and metal powder lacquer techniques. Originally, this vase sustained a fracture at its base, a consequence of less-than-ideal conditions during the making process. The repair process has breathed character, renewed beauty and value into the vase, granting it a second lease on life.

Midfired clay, glaze, lacquer, gold pigment metal powder.
